ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
To educate the public on the importance of Plants in pollution abatement ISEB and CSIR-NBRI have been putting up educative stalls under the theme ‘IMPORTANCE OF PLANTS IN CONTROLLING OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION’ in flower shows of Lucknow for last many years.
The public is educated about -
- What is Environmental Pollution
- Plants that can be used to make the Green-belt
- Plants that can be grown on dividers
- Bio-indication Plants of Pollution
- Plants for reducing indoor pollution
- Phytoremediation process
This is done by displaying educative poster for people to see, read and interact with educators to interpret the problem and solution. Beside the posters the live plants are also demonstrated so that they can identify the pollution abating plants. These educative stalls stimulate active exploration, debate, interaction, participation and engagement with local environmental issues. Literature in simple language both in English and Hindi are also distributed.
