International Conferences on Plants and Environmental Pollution


International Society of Environmental Botanists (ISEB) and CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow (CSIR-NBRI) had jointly organized six highly successful International Conferences on Plants and Environmental Pollution (ICPEP) in Lucknow in 1996, 2002, 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2018. These Conferences were co-sponsored by international organizations like UNESCO, UNEP, TWAS, IUBS, Indo-US Science & Technology Forum, AusAID, Murdoch University, Australia and several ministries/departments of Government of India, Science Academies (e.g. INSA), foundations, Nationalized Banks etc.
This Conference is aimed at providing a vibrant interactive forum for serious deliberations on the burning problems of pollution and the role of plants for amelioration. The deliberations during the Conference focus on climate change, environment, biodiversity, environmental biotechnology, plant response to environmental pollution, environmental impact assessment, bio-indication and bioremediation, plant-microbe interaction and the contemporary environmental issues.
In these Conference, over 400 delegates from more than 20 countries participate. Distinguished scientists from India and abroad deliver key note addresses and plenary lectures. Every Conference ISEB brings a colourful and highly informative Souvenir which informs our delegates about scientific scenario of Lucknow as also its social, educational importance, heritage, art, music, culinary fame. Besides the Souvenir the other publications are – Abstracts of presentation, Participants Directory and the five day Programme.
